Izumi was born and bred in Tokyo, Japan, and worked as publishing editor, radio producer, and TV researcher until she fell in love with Kakapo and moved to New Zealand. She has been involved in wildlife documentary productions in Dunedin over 25 years, and learned the joy of photography from working with talented professionals along the way. Izumi wishes to tell the story of this amazing world, big or small.
