General Rules of Entry

All entries must represent the night skies of Te Waipounamu / South Island, New Zealand (see below for only exception) as authentically as possible, free from excessive digital manipulation, with honesty in captioning.

Because of overwhelming demand after the epic solar storm and Aurora that was experienced throughout New Zealand on the 11th and 12th of May, we have agreed to add a new Aurora category to this year’s Astrophotography Competition.

In this new Aurora Category we will accept images taken in the North Island, as well as the South Island, New Zealand.

May 11th Aurora at Monte Christo Winery

The prize for this new category will be a print of your image on Chromaluxe metal kindly donated by Cory Marshall and Southern Alps Imagery.
