OK for COVID Level: 1 & 2
Where: Interplanetary Cycle Trail (Otago Central Rail Trail)
When: Winter 2021
Who: This would be a guided (by astronomer or astrophotographer) cycle ride taking in some of the planets and other highlights of the Central Otago Rail Trail. Trail Journeys from Clyde showed interest in working with us to organise this for winter 2020, but this was not followed through this year because of Covid Lockdown and time constraints.
Notes: For a scientific/astronomical tour I would expect Ian Griffin to be interested in this. Perhaps not on the bike, but at least an ‘astro talk’ in a pub (Blacks, Chatto Creek, for eg) afterwards. Ian has already volunteered himself for that role.
