UPDATE: 24th September 2020

On Friday 28th August we had the privilege of Simon Williams presenting the first Winterstellar Astrophotography Workshop. All those present at the Alexandra Golf Club were treated to a full night of education, inspiration and fun as Simon shared his years of experience and many practical tips and tricks to help photographers get the most out of the beauty of the night sky.

Feedback from attendees

I found it a fantastic learning curve for a novice.

I am trying to put a few of the skills into practice and am finding it enthralling to find out what a camera can do.

If there is another I would be very interested.

Bill Clarke

Amongst the audience were teenage students, new and experienced photographers, and accomplished artists wanting to expand their repertoire.

After a couple of hours education in the clubrooms, it was outside onto the greens and fairways of the Golf Course to try out the newly learned skills with one on one guidance from Simon.

After everybody had tested and practised under the half moon, satellites and stars it was back in to learn about the post shoot processes and best practice to put the final flourish to your images.

After more than four hours into what was originally planned to be a three hour workshop, the attendees returned to their own corners of our Central Otago paradise equipped with more knowledge and plans for capturing the night skies.
