Hooper Inlet Aurora – Dilanka Wijesekara
On a clear night, Hoopers Inlet is one of the best places in New Zealand to watch the Aurora Australis. This strong, spectacular Aurora Australis blasted last year. We usually can see the southern lights by the digital camera with a long shutter speed, but this day it was visible to the naked eye with colourful pink beams. The visibility started around 8 pm and stayed until around 3 am the next day.
